I want to start off by saying that I absolutely love Jana Aston’ books. I have all of her books and have reread all of them over and over again with Wrong being my favorite. My favorite part of her books are when the “leading man” talks about their point of view. This book was so Wrong on so many levels. I get that Ms. Aston wants to age her “ leading lady” a bit but Audrey acted and spoke like a teenager. The leading man “Warren”had no warmth and almost seemed like an after thought. HOWEVER…. I missed his thoughts either throughout the book or at the end the most. I would have given the book more than one star which just kills me as I have never written a review before and I didn’t want this book to be the first, I just couldn’t let it go because I know that I will not reread this book If Ms. Aston writes about the brother for her next book….Please make the leading lady more age appropriate and James more personable. This was a fun, light read but no real depth. I liked Audrey and Warren superficially but Audrey acted too much like a teenager and Warren was too closed off. I hate there was no dual POV for Warren because I really wanted to know more about what made him tick. Audrey rambled on a bit too much and, although I like quirky characters, I'm not sure how easy it would be to actually live with her. I wish Warren had not been the governor of New York. All I could picture was Cuomo (yuck). Also, who the heck was Carrie and how did she fit in Audrey's former life? Aston has become an auto-buy for me but only giving this 3 stars. It just wasn't quite there for me.
