Almost immediately I was frustrated that the author chose to describe one of the main characters, Charlie, as being feminine in appearance and physicality. I almost stopped reading after the second chapter. BUT, I did read the entire book and enjoyed it very much. Charlie's mannerisms or speech patterns weren't feminine, so why describe him physically as such? The author describes him as small, slender, with creamy skin and lightly muscled. He had long, thick, red hair and wore an oversized, off-the-shoulder sweater, eyeliner and Capri-style jeans. Really??? In what world would that be appealing to a hetero guy questioning his sexuality, unless said guy felt it was safe to lust after a feminine gay guy as opposed to a more macho gay guy. In that case, Hudson comes across as a deep closet case and self-loathing. ? Was it to make his acceptance by Hudson as a romantic interest more palatable to Husdon and acceptable by the reader? Why couldn't Charlie simply have been a small, slender, good-looking guy with long red hair instead of mentioning the feminine appearance, because it didn't fit Charlie's personality at all. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed this entire series but I have to say Hudson might be a favorite. When we read about him in the other books he's always kinda lost. He's a pillar of strength for his siblings and they love him for that strength.When he accidentally proposes to his girlfriend he tries to make amends by becoming the best possible employee to his boss who also happens to be his now ex girlfriends father..YIKES..can we say awkward. In his zeal to prove his worth he accepts an assignment that takes him to the verdant green hills of Ireland where he meets Charlie.Oh Charlie is such an amazing character and if I ever met him in real life I'd be putty in his hands which is kinda what happens to our poor Hudson. He's handsome, charismatic and just plain charming but a misunderstanding about his identity may prove to be the flaw that threatens the accord these two men strike up.The chemistry between these two is combustible and not at all slow burning but for a man that has truly believed himself to be a straight finding themselves suddenly and unquestioningly attracted to a man is kind of difficult.There is angst, but the feels and the pacing of the story are exquisitely done. I cannot say enough good things about this entire series but Charlie and Hud..you will fall in love with them so hard.
